Most of Aloys? work that makes him a hero has taken place in Kenya for over a decade. He founded a small orphanage for street children in Nairobi Kenya called Huruma Rescue Mission (www.huruma.org). He also founded two schools in rural Kenya while a missionary: the St. Hones school in Maua and a school in Meru which was named after him in recognition of his ceaseless efforts for the poor.
Aloys grew up during the war for independence in Kenya, and he experienced abject poverty there. He has gone on to work tirelessly to protect and rescue abandoned children, sacrificing financially and emotionally to bring educational opportunities and protection to street children. Additionally, he works here in the U.S. with at-risk kids in urban communities.
Aloys has an incredible level of integrity. He is very consistent in his commitment. He lives out what he believes, every day, even in his home life.
