Susan and her partner Skip founded K-9 Corral, a charity which saves dogs from death row at the local animal shelter (where more than 17,000 animals are euthanized every year). They give the dogs baths, shots and medical treatment (including spaying and neutering). They care for them and take them to local businesses every week to find them loving homes. So far they have saved over 1300 dogs - and no dogs are returned to the animal shelter. Once Susan and Skip have them, they are safe.
Susan and Skip have fulltime employment, but have the determination, love and compassion which keeps them going back to the shelter to give abandoned, abused and unwanted dogs a second chance for loving homes. Skip also has a small plane, which he has uses to transport dogs to new homes as needed. They also maintain a website and it is a mystery when (and if) they ever sleep! They are true heroes, and deserve to be recognized by Volvo.
