Rev. Lisanne Finston has worked in the New Brunswick, N.J., and other parts of the Garden State addressing hunger, poverty, and other human and community needs since 1989.

Since 1993, she has contributed to the community as Executive Director of Elijah's Promise Soup Kitchen. In this capacity, she has overseen the serving of nearly 100,000 meals annually.

Rev. Finston also has spearheaded Elijah's Promise's off-shoot, Promise Jobs – a program that provides people on public assistance with the training they need to gain employment in the food service industry.

Lastly, Rev. Finston also has spearheaded efforts to deal with many problems outside of Elijah's Promise's domain, including: homelessness, AIDS, parenting, drug and alcohol addiction, and affordable housing. She is a true hero.
