On August 20, 2004, my son Jay and two of his friends were in a bad car accident. Jay's foot was cut off and it was his friend, Caleb, who saved his life.

During the wreck, Caleb was pinned by his ankle behind Jay's seat had to break his ankle in two places to free himself from the wreckage.

Despite the excruciating pain, Caleb managed to put a tourniquet around my son's leg. If it had not been for the brave and unselfish act of this young man, my son would have bled to death that day.

Caleb will always be a hero in my book.
